Sax Collective concert raises £448.36
14/08/2006 -
Sax Collective, a vibrant young saxophone quartet staged a special performance at St. John's Church, Wimborne and raised £448.36 for Pramacare. The group, who will be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, decided to share their talents with a local audience while raising funds for local people who need care services.
"It was great over 100 people came along to support," says soprano saxophonist Sophie Parkhouse of Wimborne. "St. John's Church said that we could use their facilities and we wanted to give something back to the community too. The concert was free so we decided to have a retiring collection for Pramacare."
"Sax Collective were super we were treated to music from the Beatles to Bizet," commented music lover Peter Veness who was in the audience. "The quartet even played a piece composed by Ryan Searle, the tenor in the group. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more from them in the future."
