Poole Rotary club donates £1000 to Pramacare
01/03/2006 -
Bryan Keeping, the immediate past President of Poole Rotary Club, chose local care charity Pramacare as the beneficiary for the President's charity monies during his year of office. At a gala dinner Noel Groves of Pramacare's Fundraising Department was presented with a generous cheque for £1000.
"I chose Pramacare because for many years they looked after my wife, before she had to go into a care home," says Bryan. "They cared for her ever weekday without fail, thus enabling her to remain with the family."
"The need for care in the home is huge" comments Noel. "At Pramacare we want to help as many people as possible and extra funds are always needed. Poole Rotary Club's donation will help pay towards the cost of care for those who can't afford it, so that they can have the care they need."
Pramacare was established at Christchurch Hospital in 1982. Today the charity has more than 200 carers who help an average of 685 people each month in the local area, enabling them to live independent lives, without being forced into residential care.
