Verwood Mayor donates over £1,800
21/06/2007 -
Verwood Mayor Jane Russell celebrated her year in office and local home care charity Pramacare's 25th anniversary with a series of fundraising events. Thanks to lots of hard work, a talent contest and a barn dance Jane raised an amazing £1,867.
The monies will be used to give care fee subsidies to local people who are on reduced incomes and who receive home care from Pramacare.
The cheque was presented to Pramacare's Trusts Co-ordinator, Noel Groves. Noel explains, "Last year Pramacare gave £160,000 in care fee subsidies to people that it helps. Without faithful supporters like Jane, our shops and support from grant making trusts the charity would not be able to give this vital financial help to so many local people."
