May Day charity balloon launch

Councillor Queenie Comfort, Chair of EDDC, has appointed local domicilary care charity Pramacare as the beneficiary of charity monies collected during her year of office 2005-2006. As a grand finale fundraising event balloons will be launched from the Wimborne Minster Green on May 1st, Bank Holiday Monday at 12.30pm.
"We're hoping the May Day balloon launch will boost the funds we've already raised for Pramacare this year, as well as being a lot of fun for all those who attend". Says Councillor Comfort.
Graham Tucker of Pramacare's Fundraising Department adds, "We were delighted when Councillor Comfort nominated Pramacare as her charity for the year. We are now selling balloon tickets at a cost of £1.00 each from our offices in West Howe as well as Wimborne Tourist Information Office."
Balloon tickets will also be available on the Minster Green on May Day from 10.30am, along with free children's entertainment. All tickets will be attached to balloons and launched by Councillor Comfort as the Minster's Quarterjack clock strikes 12.30pm. Local businesses have generously donated prizes for the balloons retrieved from the greatest distance away. These include a DVD player and a digital radio. Pramacare will announce the winners in early June.
