24/05/2007 -
Verwood’s community radio station Forest FM invited local home care charity Pramacare to its Community Matters show, to learn about the charity's work and the growing need that it is trying to meet in the Verwood and West Moors area. Anita Dalkin, who helps coordinate the home care Pramacare provides in Verwood, explained to presenter Pete Samuels, “We have 5 care attendants in Verwood who help 34 people to remain living independently in their own homes. But we need more care attendants to meet the increasing demand for help, especially at evenings and weekends.” Verwood care attendant Carol Bailey, who has worked for the charity for over ten years, added “All Pramacare care attendants receive training and they are paid for the valuable work they do.” Former care attendant Sue I'anson, now manager for Pramacare’s Verwood charity shop, added , “By raising funds Pramacare is also able to help subsidise the cost of care for the people that it looks after.” For more information about employment opportunities with Pramacare call 01202 597302.
