Janet retires after almost 20 years' faithful service
26/01/2010 -

Janet Sheppard from Wimborne is retiring after almost 20 years' working as a care attendant for local home care charity Pramacare. She now plans to spend more time with her family and tending her garden.

"My doctor told me about Pramacare when my mother was staying with me and I needed help to look after her", says Janet. "I was so very grateful for the care she was given that I wanted to put something back into Wimborne and I became a care attendant myself after my Mum's death."

The value and impact of each hour of home care is immeasurable. Over the last year alone the Pramacare care team has provided an average of over 2,500 care hours each week, enabling people to remain living independently in their own homes.

Pramacare's Human Resources Manager Jane Taylor adds: "Pramacare is all about team work. Our carer attendants come from a variety of backgrounds; Mum's with a few hours to spare or semi-retired people. We offer flexible hours of work, training, support, a mileage allowance and good rates of pay."
